The problem – Calcium deposits from the water form scale in pipes, on appliances and other plumbing surfaces, particularly where heat occurs. This leads to higher heating and energy costs and expensive repairs to appliances such as boilers, ice machines, kettles, coffee makers, dishwashers etc.
Scale can also be a source for bacteria to grow, which can be a health concern in drinking water applications. Calcium and alkaline water on the other hand, is important to human health, and supplements are recommended if calcium is reduced or totally void in one’s diet.
The products listed in this category include calcium treatment units suitable for commercial applications, and home water filters, both drinking and whole house, which are also able to reduce scaling in domestic appliances whilst retaining healthy calcium.
The products listed below do not increase lathering of soaps & detergents as a true water softener would but work to prevent scale adhesion, mostly through a process known as Template Assisted Crystallisation which converts the minerals responsible fo limescale into tiny crystals
